Peace of Mind

Psychotherapy Treatment in New York City

Our Mission

At Peace of Mind Psychotherapy, you’ll experience an enriching and rewarding bond between client and therapist, greater self-acceptance, and personal fulfillment. By bridging the gap between traditional therapy and creativity, our team of experienced psychotherapists will help you clear a path for further relational developments and self-discovery.

The wellness and wholeness of an individual can be found through psychotherapy, which allows for an introspective journey to one’s psyche. At Peace of Mind, we use a wide-ranging holistic approach in order to get to know those we serve. Psychotherapy is a marvelous tool through which to grapple with trauma, analyze goal-setting, and unearth the root of every-day issues.

Our aim is to utilize creative and artistic expression, among a vast array of other tools, in order to draw out and discuss past experiences. From there, clients learn how to use these experiences to create the present and future they want to see for themselves.

Who We Are & What We Do

At Peace of Mind, we utilize an integrated approach to psychotherapy. This fosters reflection and self-awareness, permitting clients to express themselves openly in whatever manner they choose. By using this approach, we work with clients in a comforting, open, non-judgmental environment, providing diagnoses as well as therapeutic care.

Our focus in treatment is to understand you as a whole person. We partner with you to uncover the root causes of your desires, aversions, and patterns of behavior that may be holding you back.

In the process of undergoing our psychotherapy, you will learn to identify problems while also understanding and applying their solutions to your life. Ultimately, these tools and skills will lead you to a more meaningful life and provide you with healthier ways to communicate and cope.

Our style is interactive and applies both verbal and creative techniques to access the unconscious. As active listeners, we’ll structure personalized sessions customized to your unique needs and goals.

Our focus in treatment is to understand you as a whole person. We partner with you to uncover the root causes of your desires, aversions, and patterns of behavior that may be holding you back.

Our Therapy Approaches

Knowing, exploring, and discovering one’s own mind is the highest form of self-care, and we consider it a privilege to get to know every soul who enters through our doors.

We invite you to begin – or continue – your journey with us.

First and foremost, we at Peace of Mind strongly believe that mental health services are some of the most vital in the world. Thankfully, the stigma against therapy has pivoted into mainstream acceptance and excitement. We hold these practices in high regard, and believe they should be used by everyone as maintenance in life, not simply when things go wrong.

At Peace of Mind, we are fortunate to serve our clients from four major approaches. In order to provide you with the utmost care, please take a moment to read the types of services we provide and let us know which you think would be the best fit for you or your loved ones.

Individual
Psychotherapy

We provide one-on-one sessions with clients that cater to how you’d like to approach your therapy. By using different methods, including psychoanalysis, creative arts, and talk therapy, our team will aid you on your own personal journey. Our highly experienced team covers a wide range of topics and specialties, from goal-setting to dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and more. We are here to lend an ear, advice, and analysis for individuals in every walk of life, and are ready to work through a variety of hurdles.

Couples Therapy/
Counseling

There is often an assumption that couples therapy is for those with problems in their relationships. While we know this can often be the case and will work together to discover the roots of those issues, we also firmly believe that couples therapy is for partners who are thriving, want to learn more about one another, and are interested in exploring ways that they can grow as a team. Being in a healthy relationship means communication, through the best and worst of times, and we’d be honored to have you entrust us with that level of care.

Family Therapy

Family and relationships are a vital part of our development as people. Sometimes it can be challenging with everyone’s individual dynamics. We cover all manners of family, and also specialize in working with children, adolescents and young women. Through family therapy, we aim to maintain bridges and foster strong bonds to last a lifetime – and even generations beyond.

Group Therapy

Many people, be they introverted, extroverted, or something in between, find the most powerful ally in life can be found in those on a similar journey. Group therapy is a wonderful tool through which to collaborate, meet others, and offer advice to those with related life experiences based upon your own.

Billing & Insurance

Peace of Mind is an out-of-network group provider. While we do not currently accept direct insurance payments for psychotherapy, we provide all necessary documentation for accessing out-of-network benefits.

At the end of the month, you will be provided with a superbill, which you can submit as a claim to your insurance provider.

In our experience with most providers, after you reach your deducible, you’re eligible to be reimbursed for 70-90% of your treatment cost. To find out if your insurance company will reimburse you for a portion of treatment, you may contact your insurance company directly, or reach out to us and we will help guide you through the process.

If you wish to pay out-of-pocket without the aid of insurance, and seek to offset any economic burdens, we are more than open to having a discussion and working with you. We do not believe finances should be a hindrance on well-being. Should you have any further questions regarding our fees, financial policies, and insurance reimbursement, please don’t hesitate
to contact us.
